I was in recovery for 4-5 hours.... I can't imagine talking to anyone or being moved before that. I was so out of it till then. I got plenty of iv pain meds and anti nasaeu meds during that time.

I am 12 days post op and I did have a electric recliner in my room very close to a bathroom. I also had a raised toilet seat. I would say you do not need the recliner/seat because of the pain (pain was not bad at all!) more for convienance. I did not need any help getting up or going to be bathroom because the chair/ seat did the work for me. If you are downstairs someone will have to come help you get up for the 1st few days and you definitely do not want the dogs to jump on you!

I am swollen but not that bad, I would say I feel tender.
