I am almost done with tray 7 and just now barely seeing some changes. I think they have to move some of the back teeth first to make some room. Can you tell a difference with your flossing or a change in your bite?

You can use a nail file to smooth out the sharp edges... Some people have used ortho wax to help. It won't take long and it's like your tongue toughens up or something. Hang in there!

I've gotten to where I give myself more time. Rushing through every meal got old quick. An ortho on a different site said 20-22 hours a day is fine. I haven't had any problems with tracking, so I am sticking with it! :) You could try using chewies (or heck sometimes I even chew on a pen) to help seat your aligners and see if that helps with the canine fit. You're getting some really good movement though, I can see a discernible difference!! Wish I could see that kind of movement with mine, but I don't yet. I switch to tray 7 tonight.

Congratulations on starting your treatment! The first tray is usually very mild if not passive altogether. The "get used to the process" tray! :) I look forward to reading about your treatment as time passes! Should go pretty quick for you with the amount of trays you have.

If you give it a little more time, you will get used to the attachments. They are needed in order to move your teeth properly. To combat the tooth sensitivity you could get a prescription of Colgate 6000 from your ortho or dentist (I had to as well) and also use Pronamel Sensodyn everytime you brush. That has helped me tremendously with sensitivity issues. I promise you will get used to the trays and attachments if you give it a few more weeks. Your dentist/ortho should have been more up front about the entire process, including attachments, prior to you getting your molds and records done! I'm sorry you are having a rough go at it...
