Yes! Still not feeling 100% good but I don't regret it. I think the process is like labor. You don't ask someone in labor if its worth it lol...this healing is rough but I'm sure I will be smiling this summer. I also had two procedures at once so it's rougher than just TT and I have a low pain threshold to boot. When I look at my figure in the mirror I'm still shocked at the difference considering how athletic I already was. Grateful my leg muscles were so well developed because I used them quite a bit first four weeks to make up for lack of core strength. I'm a chicken and the healing sucks but I would do it again...amazing how vanity overrules logic lol.
Forgot to mention that I also had two drains. He took one out a week after surgery and another 4 days after that. So both were out before two weeks. They are the worse. I used an old necktie around my neck to pin them to so I could shower. I was allowed to shower 3 days after surgery and that hot water relieved a lot of tension in my body and helped me feel so much better. Especially since I had multiple surgeries so my upper and lower body were incredibly swollen and stiff.
I am 51 and had TT 8 weeks ago today!! OMG, I am still counting days. I have BA done at same time. I kept wondering if I was too old, but then I thought, do I really want regrets? When I'm 60 I don't want to think, I should have done this or I should have done that. I am also a very petite, young looking 51, look more like 40, so I figured I might as well take the plunge. The recovery was rough due to the multiple surgeries (and tons of swelling), but I don't regret it at all. My whole body looks completely different. I work out every day (or at least I used to until my surgery lol) and I could NEVER achieve the results the surgery gave me. My advice is to listen to your body and rest, rest, rest when you need to. I needed tons of rest and I am usually an incredibly active women, but I didn't fight it. I bought silicone sheets for my scars and started using those at about 3 weeks. I also bought a special silicone marble for my belly button because it can close if you don't keep it open w/something. And sometimes I use half a foam ear plug in it instead of the marble. I hold it in w/bandaids. I slept in the recliner for the first 3 weeks and couldn't use most compression garments because it bothered me too much so I used an exercise velcro waist thing I had in the basement because I could control the tension. It gets a little better every day. The hardest part is getting up in the morning, it still feel incredibly stiff and numb, but loosens up as the day goes by. I take tons of vitamins so constipation is never an issue (especially if you take a lot of vitamin C). . I also switched to advil for pain/discomfort a week after surgery and that made a big difference in my comfort level. The prescription pain meds don't help me much and just make me feel lousy in general.
