  • Posted to Biting the bullet, hoping for the best! GETTING STICHES OUT TODAY, HEALING WELL :) on 2 Feb 2013

I know exactly how you feel. I looked just like your before pictures! Trust me, you'll think many, many times....maybe they are too big?? Even as the months go by. There is actual swelling for 3-5 months after your surgery. It takes at least 6 months for them to be actually just your boobies, and feel natural with them and normal. You feel better every day, every week, but you'll notice that suddenly, you look "real" and normal! :) Take pics along the way...I did every week till 4 months, and it really shows the difference! I'm so happy you are doing well, just rest and move your arms around so you don't get stiff! :) My husband said the same - he didn't think they ever looked too big lol. :) They still go way down. :)

You're doing great! I was just like you - 32A before I went in, 29, no kids. I wanted to have "as big as would look naturally "real" on me. I was thinking a mid C. My doctor doesn't go by bra sizes, but he was thinking about 350. I'm 5'4", 115 lbs. I was like really? Are you sure? But then I kept reading how other girls regretted not getting a bit more, because trust me, they settle down, the swelling goes down.... So I had my surgery 1 year ago, and mine look so real! No one knows I've had surgery, they just think I'm blessed with a rockin body lol. I trusted my doctor to do whatever he saw best in surgery - imagine my SHOCK when I saw he did 380ccs in one and 410ccs in the other (I didn't know I had one boob slightly smaller than the other, huh!) I was like holy crap thats way too big - and when I took off the gauze and was put in a compression bra (You'll feel much better when they do that, isn't it today or tomorrow for you?) I was SO big and SO swollen, I was scared. Just remember they go WAY DOWN. I'm actually So happy now that he did what he did. I felt a 32DD ( I know, what??) but also a 34D, but I don't look all that big! It's because I'm so tiny around, that I have to have a bigger cup size. If I was a bit wider, I would be a 36C. Isnt bra sizing weird? So yeah, it all works out in the end :) You DID IT and you will be so happy with your results, :) I kept a mini diary of how I felt everyday, and as the weeks went by it just showed me how great it was. I slept on my back, propped up for a month, but after that it gets easier! Mine were under the muscle too ( it generally takes longer to heal from those, but makes a much more realisitic look!) Yay for you!!!

It's interesting how different everyone's first 3 days post op can be. I was taken home, felt pleasant with the after surgery meds, and just went to sleep at home, my husband was there to take care of me. I was wrapped well, and felt secure - my chest/skin, just felt tight, but I didn't feel like I had weights on my chest (which is what I was told) or that I couldn't breathe (what I was told). I didn't throw up or feel naseous. I ate soft pasta and turkey that night and it was delicious. The 2nd day I kept resting, and the hardest thing was probably just having to lay on my back all the time. Turning the side AT ALL caused the pain to be more severe, so I just laid on my back, propped up for the first few weeks. Other than that, it was just a dull pain and I whiled away the time with movies and audiobooks. I did tire easily the first week, and I was put in a compression bra on day 3 which felt better than all the gauze. Taking a shower was nice, even though my boobs felt very achy when they weren't being supported by the compression bra! I asked for another one, so I wore one in the shower (opening it for a bit to wash those areas) but to have a wet one/ and dry one for support. Felt much better! I was back to work in 2 weeks, mostly by then I was moving my arms all around, and just taking advil for the swelling. Now it's been a year out, and I'm so happy, it's been great!
