Dear RockinMom
You should know that we all go through these times when we are not good enough, despite all the hardship and all of the pain and all of the crap we have endured. It feels unfair and unjust. But you know this feeling will pass. You have been through it before. It feels like absolute rubbish right now, but it will pass.
The swelling will subside, your legs will normalise, and you will continue with healthy eating to support your improved body. You will love the look of yourself in the mirror in your shorts and running top and know you have succeeded to be your best.
You may not understand the depth to which you have inspired and supported the rest of us with our own “gigantic cooters”: how your words have resonated with so many of us - right across the globe (I’m in Australia) and helped each of us get through our own little isolated world of pain and fears. You are right when you say that this is not something you can discuss with your in-laws, or mother, sister or even dearest friend. They are not going through it, and really can’t understand. But you can, and you have. You have been the voice in my head, helping me through the last few weeks when I thought no-one else would understand what I felt. You felt it too, and you put it in words that were true and compassionate, and at times hilarious. Thank you.
Now have another look at your beautiful, complete, whole, healthy body and tell yourself that you are loved. Because you are loved.
And for goodness sakes, put another post on- we all want to know how you are!
