I was advised to not have drains removed until totally empty, but the doctor did when each side was below 20cc's and I let him, as I couldn't wait to get rid of them. But then fluid built up under the sealed incisions and I had to deal with drainage and wound care for a good 6-8 weeks after that. I see the doctors have you checking for infection, of course, but if you still have drainage, I concur - keep them in.

LOL - yes, should have mentioned in my review that the lipsuction in my midriff kept hurting waaaaaay past the pain from the incision! But my fat had settled there and I felt like 8 months pregnant all the time. Now that's gone.
