Had a friend who works for a facial plastic surgeon, not LSL, tell me her office has the utmost respect for Dr. Rodriguez, who has a practice and also does procedures for LSL. She herself, highly recommended him. That was most encouraging for me. At this time, I have had stitches removed, have much numbness -am on day 2 AFTER removals. Was told NOT to wear any ear-rings of any kind for some time, to wear lots of sunscreen if outside, and to wear the neck/chin "gear" at night for 3 weeks. I am following instructions .
Dear Funnyface,
I have to agree. I just had stitches out, and feel stiffer than before they came out. But--I also notice very minimal scars, and the redness from all the laser is subsiding. Think POSITIVE--what a grand piece of advice! We don't need to look 30 or whatever again--just as young as we feel to do the things we enjoy doing, right? Are you in Ft. Lauderdale? The nurse assistants are truly helpful, honest and encouraging. Then, I was a lucky one who got Dr. Rodriguez, but, it was assistants who called to check on how I am doing. Right now, NOT happy to just learn prior to stitches being removed--"No ear-rings for some while and NO face painting on my own face. (Since retirement, I am now a good face painter and readying right now to go attend FABAIC--look it up--it is BIG--and I wanted one of the best face/body painters in the world to paint me from the upper chest up--now learn--no dice-due to my LSL so recent--and my skin must continue to heal. Ah well--can't win 'em all, but, this is major-for "Me". Plus-the ear-ring thing-part of my persona, especially as a storyteller, are my large, flashy ear-rings. I will need to come up with something creative as to what happened to my ear-rings in telling the story of my book ear-ring that is filled with stories.
All the best to you. Keep posting, but, I think you will end up being very satisfied.
Your Dr. sounds very qualified. The neck part, to my knowledge, usually goes VERY well and makes a major difference. My doctor was great and, in my opinion, made a ton of difference. The nurses I had were wonderful. I am on day 6 and will soon have my stitches from lower LSL removed. (For me, very little pain at any time, EXCEPT --with my full face laser-when he got to the last part-forehead-OW!!The pain on my forehead was unbelievable. I still think all the numbing injections must have wore off too soon. That short while for me, was excruciating--everything else--perfect, and, I have already been out to meetings, etc.I will be wearing the chin/neck wrsp for 3 more wks. maybe just to bed.)I am very pleased with the results thus far. The neck did not hurt when he stopped the laser.)
You are probably the type who will look very young for another 20 years. For me, I actually READ in the LSL-info they gave me to take home, much to my disappointment, that the full laser lasts "up to 9 months". But, I read reviews stating the LSL might last 10-15 years. Why don't we just think of the "might" as "probably will"!
While I was out tonight, a nurse called to check on how I am doing. If their ratings are down, they sure are trying to pull them UP. Such a nice message she left.
