You have to keep using it; although for maintenance I have heard that you can cut back to 2-3 applications a week.
I have been using it 4 months and I have not cut back. I still use it everyday.
the nurse told me the FDA requires that warning... because the drops for glaucoma [Latisse contains the same active ingredient] can darken light colored eyes. I do not get the drops *in* my eyes, and I wait until my lids are completely dry before I go to bed.
It seems like it would be easier to accidentally get some in your eye if you use the big clunky brush that comes with the product. I use a skinny eyeliner brush and clean it with alcohol after each use.
No mascara in the second photo—or any makeup at all, but i did get my lashes tinted in july (because I was going on vacation and would be swimming)
My lashes did get darker on their own, but not this dark.
I will post another photo with makeup before Latisse, and makeup after Latisse. That is pretty dramatic, too.

My Dr. said the fluid should be "straw colored" so yours sounds right on the mark. Don't be afraid to call your surgeon with any questions.
My Dr. took my drain out at two weeks... even though I still had about 60cc on fluid in the drain in 24 hours. I think I was too active... even though I didn't feel like I was being that active. I'm 8 weeks post op now.
He told me that movement, especially lateral movement causes friction where the skin is needing to re-adhere to the tissue, so the body's defense response is to send fluid there to cushion and protect. Good luck! Call your Dr. if you are concerned about anything. Continued followup is part of their job-- don't worry that you are bothering them!
That's great! Its good to be aware that swelling can last longer than a month... I guess the Dr. can't tell us absolutely everything; and I know that everyone's body responds differently, etc.
I just need to stop obsessing about my favorite jeans— I mean even though they are too tight (right now) the muffin top is already gone!
I would highly recommend the procedure. I wish I could have done it a few years ago.
