I have just had great success lightening my eyebrow tattoo!!!! I had it done on Friday, and just freaked out, even though I had the lightest color possible and I am olive skinned. My technician wanted to do a much darker brown, and I'm so glad I went lighter. I also said that I didn't like the very obvious hairstrokes, however I had little lines poking over the top of my natural brow line so it made my eyebrows look like caterpillars. I called my technitian who told me not to freak out, and that she could soften it all at my follow up visit. I still wasn't convinced, because I think that she was a very good eyebrow technician, but we just weren't on the same page aesthetically speaking. I wanted a very soft natural look. I thought that if I got some of the ink out, if there were any patches, she could always add color, but she wouldn't be able to take it away. I know that you will all say that there's no way you should do this, but I did, well aware that I was risking scarring, uneven color etc. I left everything alone until Monday night (had it done on the Friday), to give everything a chance to heal, then I started swabbing my eyebrows with salt water, just lightly, no rubbing. I would let it dry then dab on some more. The salt began to get crusty, and it really began to itch. I gently washed off the salt with cotton swabs and let it air dry with no ointment overnight. My theory was that I wanted to encourage scabbing as much as possible, because the scabs suck out the ink. I didn't touch it again until the next night (no ointment all day) when I again swabbed gently with salt water until the salt built up. Again I washed and air-dried. By this morning, my eyebrows were really scabby and dry, I put some ointment on to stop the scabs from coming off prematurely, but by the afternoon, the scabs had completely come off one eyebrow and are almost all off the other. I am not forcing or pulling any off. Most of the color has come out, leaving a soft wash of color I am loving, and the nasty hairstrokes have disappeared. I do have a couple of very slightly pink patches (very small), but that I can live with, I feel like I just dodged a bullet! Again, my color wasn't very strong, and I was willing to take the chance, I certainly don't advise anyone to do it, I'm only saying it worked for me!
