Again, I should have used an oculoplatic surgeon for this procedure not a plastic surgeon. I did not do my homework :( this is a very common surgery that can have excellent results by a properly experienced surgeon. I hope you find a solution your happy with in the end. It stinks to be in the "bad results" club where we are.
I have been following up once a month since surgery with my new doctor. My right eye looks much better but still feels numb and does not open like the other when i look up. The good news is that I'm the only one who notices the problem without pointing it out to someone. The bad news is that i will probably have to have it corrected with a second surgery. The doctor has encouraged me to wait on the correction for as long as a year. The longer i let the healing settle from the first surgery, the better the correction. He did say it would be a minor surgery to tighten the muscle in that eye.....which is positive.
I am 5 Weeks out and my left eye still has ptosis. I hear a lot about not being to open an eye due to tightness but nothing about having an eye that won't open properly......a lazy eye. Has anyone experienced this and has anyone had a full recovery with time or had to have corrective surgery?
You mighty want to see an oculoplastic surgeon. Read the doctors comments here and then Search my first posing "one eye won't open" and read the doctors comments there. I found them very helpful....and hopeful.
