Hi Ladies, I came across this post and thought I would chime in. I didn't have IPL, but I had LHR to my underarm that I believe damaged my dermis. I had NO surface burns.. Symptoms include pain, swelling, tenderness to touch - 8 wks post treatment I was examined and it hurt like crazy for 24 hrs. I ended up calling a lot of compounding pharmacists - outside of skin grafts, I had no idea what options were out there. Some pharmacists had some ideas that I'm going to try. Call around and see what they say - compounding pharmacists can formulate virtually anything. Some may not have any ideas - don't give up - keep trying..
Also one pharmacist suggested Manuka honey creams. I just bought the actual manuka honey and put it on my underarm at night. I know what they say about the dermis being unable to regenerate, but there are miracle stories for every naysayer. I do believe acupuncture would increase blood flow, which would be a good thing. Anything that stimulates blood flow would be a plus - I would think dermarolling would be included in that.. Arnica wouldn't hurt anyone..
