  • Posted to 10 Things I wish I'd known before Breast Augmentation on 13 Dec 2012

I don't know if anyone read my post on a different subject regarding BA. I am about 3months post op. i am 5'4". my doctor insisted that i have a breast lift along with saline implants under the muscle. When I went for the consultation, HE NEVER MENTIONED DOING ANY "before" preparation (like eating habits). I told him I wanted a 400cc implant, and he did the measurements and said currently i was a 38c. surgery day after, they removed the bandage. day 2 i showered, and while drying off noticed skin along the vertical incision of the lift procedure. The skin PEELED OFF IN A THIN LAYER LIKE A BLISTER! on both breast, the left was worse! when I ask my surgeron Dr. Taki in Tucson Arizona, he had NO answer! three months later, and i STILL HAVE A GAPPING SORE ON THE LEFT BREAST, AND THE RIGHT IS FINALLY STARTING TO HAVE NEW SKIN. have any ideas why? and what I can possibly do to make the sore heal faster? it is approx the size of a lense on my reading glasses? This is the first surgery that I have ever had. I have never had kids. did i mention I am 48yrs old. i take vitamins, b5, d, a, c, milk thistle... it is just not healing very well. i still have to wear a sports bra as I still have to wear gauze on the sore! regular bras are still a little painful to wear. on the other end of the surgery, now my right breast is smaller than the left! which was not the case before. and, i went to a "certified fitter" at Dillards, and she tells me that i am STILL a 38c - WTF? I paid cash for my surgery, as the doctor would not accept any financing or insurance! which was only $6,000.00, I am sure that is more reasonable than some of you have paid... but I didn't think i would be this disappointed! did i also mention that one of nipples now looks bigger than the other due to the lift i guess. any suggestions.... i guess i am lucky tho as i don't think they have caused me to be ill, a little more tired.. but that's it really. when i ask the surgeon about the size difference, his reply was..."don't talk to me about size for a year!"... that would be great but in a year, i will have relocated to a different state! any advise on what to do about the size difference? should i push the issue with the surgeon?

I think it is very important for others in my area to know what has happened.
