Thank u for the responses. Lesson learned...go to your derm or plastic surgeon for these treatments. I've had a few in the past w/ no problems. This time the operator, like the MDs responded, was WAY too aggressive. My cheeks are beautiful and clear now. The burned areas around my mouth led to HSV 1 outbreak (never had fever blisters, etc before), and subsequently, impetigo. NOT fun. Been on antiviral and antibiotic, along with Biafine. Finally healing. I love the results of a good series of IPL treatments, just make sure you're going to an MD, not a medispa w/o an experienced MD on site. Also, if the pain during the tx is excruciating, tell them to stop. Had I done that, I wouldn't be in this position. Pain was 100x greater than any discomfort I've felt in the past...
