NewSelf, yes! Maybe I could make up a story and say that I had a belly button piercing that turned infected and now have to keep it covered all... summer ...long ;-). I can't imagine going back to square one with compression garments. I've about had it with postop restrictions and recovery. My husband is really sweet, and doesn't want me doing more than I should right now. Even though he's well-intentioned, it's starting to get on my nerves. I want to be able to do things for myself again. Yesterday, I started peeling an orange and he told me to give him the orange. He said that I should not be peeling an orange because I'm really not supposed to do anything to engage my pecs. I'm sure he was right, but I threw a little fit and got all dramatic saying that I just want to do things myself and I'm not child. It was ridiculous of me, but I'm just at my limit. My OCD extends to my house as well. I can't vacuum or mop yet, and the floors are driving me absolutely crazy. I know he would do them, but he already does so much I don't want to ask him. Happy place, go to my happy place...
You know texmommy because all of the bb that I've seen looked good, I did not even think to ask him. Sigh. I bet that in six weeks, your scar will be even lighter. Probably a good spray tan and maybe the tattoo concealer will do wonders :-).
Lol NewSelf...my obsession has reached a point that not only do I study everyone's bb who has had a TT (to see how it SHOULD be done), but I also study every bellybutton of every suspiciously flat stomach that I see in magazines, movies, etc lol
New self, I think your surgeon is a genius! I'm really learning that is all in the belly button. Hindsight. I do believe my scar will be vastly improved. If you stick your finger in your belly button and push down a little bit, you will see that the skin pulls inward. That is similar to what he's going to do with tacking stitches. It will pull the protruding skin inside of the belly button, and by proxy pull that scar in towards my belly button. It might show a tiny bit on that outer rim, but nothing like now. :-)
*put on some spanx (Sorry, I just took a tramadol and it makes me feel a little odd. I still have intermittent discomfort from the tacking to my ribs with the augmentation)
