I am 5' tall and I got down to 122 when I had my surgery. I will tell you the recovery is tough because you can't work out for a long time and even when you do you can't do high intensity. I was doing P90X and Insanity before surgery and I am 4 months pre op and still can't do those workouts yet, I also gained about 5 pounds after surgery because I was on the couch for most of the day for about a month. Everytime I would try to do anything I would swell up pretty bad. I am still trying to get those 5 pounds off and the extra 5-10 I had to go before the surgery. I would say try to get down as low as you can because it is going to be hard to get back to your routines. Just my suggestion, I know it is hard! Good luck!
I started a circuit training workout at 10 weeks post op and I swelled up pretty bad and it didn't totally go away while I slept! Very frustrating, I have a swollen area above my belly button that doesn't go as flat as before. My doc said I prob didn't damage anything but I have to take it easy until it goes down and start very slowly. Everyone heals differently and apparently I am taking longer:-( I hope your swelling goes down!
