The great news about being fit prior to any surgery significantly aids in a speedier recovery and reduces complications. I took casual walks - a lot. It reminded me of when my kids were little and it would take us 45 minutes just to get around the block because they loved looking at every rock, flower, bug, dog, cat, etc ;) great way to get fresh air and be good to yourself. You are very smart about waiting to row! In the giant scheme of things, this is a very short time to be off. It will go by fast and you'll be back out there before you know it. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!
Actually played in my first game yesterday instead of last week. As I noted before, I had rotator cuff surgery last fall for a massive tear so I've been waiting for "all parts" to heal :) I felt great at the game and the only weird sensation was on a full out sprint, I felt like I could feel the implants move a little odd. It may be the pec muscles still figuring out how they are supposed to move now. I also want to buy a different sports bra. I don't like the moving comfort ones I bought; way too much fabric and its like a girdle for the girls - too constricting!! I'm a 34D now and felt like those bras were enough support for a triple F. Any suggestions are appreciated! I strongly recommend waiting to get out there full tilt until you feel really ready. Ease into the exercise - I started light running at the 4 week mark but didn't take on strength training, Pilates (laying face down was freaking me out) and sprinting until this last week. My legs are sore as hell today but its a good sore :))
