I'm amazed at how many neurologists don't seem to know how many patients are having the same awful side effects! I called The Allergan pharmaceutical that makes Botox. They just told me that They were very sorry about my excruciating neck and shoulder pain, difficulty swallowing and frozen forehead. They documented everything and asked me for the lot# and expiration of the bottle which I don't keep. They also asked if they had permission to call my neurologist and/or me back.
I too feel the same! I had my fourth series of shots along with some extra Tiraspol shots to the traps. I'm having a hard time swallowing. I eat less now because I get so frustrated. I have to see a chiropractor and masseuse every 3 days. Symptoms come on 4 days after shots. Neck pain is excruciating. I also feel a like can no longer open my mouth so wide! Cannot receive anymore injections. Just hope I can return to normal. Going on vacation next week. Hope I will be able to swallow food. P. S. I workout everyday for 1 he. And eat healthy, take nomads other than relax for migraines because I still get them! Need a break!
Approximately 3wks. ago I had my first 30 shots of Botox for chronic migraines. The shots were a bit painful because the nurse was new at administering them. I had tightness in the middle of my forehead that has since gotten 50%better. Although, I wonder if I will get to 100%. This makes my eyebrows look v-shaped when I raise them. Weird. I was sore at the injection site for a couple of days. 2wks later, I had burning pain in the back of my neck that radiated to my shoulders. I sought a chiropractor. I also went to a spa for a massage. There was a little relief for several days then stiffness in the back of my neck appeared. 1wk. ago I realized that I could not open my mouth real wide. Also, when I ate something hard it hurt my jaw! I started freaking out. I thought I had some neurological disease. Then, I found this website with all these horror stories. I don't know what to do now. The burning pain is gone as is the pain in my jaw, however I still have stiffness in the back of my neck. This is so annoying. Especially since I like to workout daily. If any can give me some professional advice, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you so much. Are these adverse side effects from the Botox? Will they go away anytime soon? Will they get worse because I am suppose to have another set of injections every 3months. I decided to try Botox because I hit the perimenopause stage and my migraines quadrupled.
I was taking Topamax for 1 1/2yrs, However, this gave me severe memory loss and hair loss. The only thing that works for me is popping Relpax like candy. I eat super healthy, exercise daily and eat 1800 calories a day. I have no other medical issues other than migraines.
