My issues were that the whole thing was treated too casually by the center, the provider and therefore by me. I didn't research it adequately first or I would not have done it. To make a long story short, they had a buy 2 syringes get one free offer so I said ok. I was told this filler will give me more bang for my buck. Bottom line, I don't think I needed the full three. After two and a half were injected he went back to one side and put in more because there was some question of that side being a little more hollow. I was bruised immediately on that side and went home without being told to ice it or not touch it. I signed a sheet pre-treatment that said all that could go wrong but nobody actually spoke to me about it. Who really reads those things anyway, right? If we worried that we would have every side effect of every drug or botox we would never do or take anything. Anyway, I got home and looked in the mirror and I panicked. I looked horrible!!!! All swollen and bruised and my mouth was pushed over from the one side getting more filler and bruising. It looked like I had Bell's Palsy. I pushed the stuff over so my mouth would not be as crooked but it still was. Then I got in the car and went right back there. I was also worried that maybe I did something wrong by pushing it around. A nurse examined me and said I didn't hurt it that my facial muscles would push it into place. She did say that maybe he did overfill that side. (That would be something for the court room if I wanted to go that route, but too much trouble for a non permanent product) I was assured that it would go down and in a couple weeks I would be overjoyed with the results.I went home still freaked out and sick to my stomach. It took weeks for all the swelling and bruisng to subside. I went back in couple times in the first two weeks and he massaged it to smooth it but it was too late in my opinion to change the way I pushed it around due to the overfilling. They kept telling me everything is great, you will love it when it settles. Its two and a half months later and the place I smushed is not right cause it looks dented a little. Its not smooth. But if I hadn't, would my lower lip still be slightly off center? The cheeks came out good but I don't like the nasolabial area so much. If you have a sagging face, just adding filler isn't necessarily the answer. So for three quarters of my face, it worked ok. The one spot bugs me and I am very self conscious. I would never ever do anything like this again. I hope it wears off early. I would rather be naturally beautiful and look my age than have these results with a lumpy filler aligned wrong for a year. Anyone reading this that is dismayed by the early look, take heart that your face will improve for weeks and weeks. You are not stuck with the "monster face" you see early on, and even then it can still change subtlely the first few months as mine has. If you are considering doing it, i would recommend a reversible filler or none at all.
My update for the community is that the swelling went down. It took a few weeks to settle down. Give it time. The bruise finally healed after a month or so. I do see and feel a difference on the two sides of my mouth from where I squeezed my face in panic post procedure. Wish they had told me not to touch it. On well I was pretty freaked out because I didn't expect all of that swelling. Please do your research about Radiesse first and tell your friends so they don't have a horrible experience. I'm okay now but wish I hadn't moved it around.
