  • Posted to Tummy Tuck Part 1: So happy! 8 weeks post op - Maryland on 25 Nov 2012

I think that what you are feeling is normal. I have days like that too, BUT we are ONLY 3 weeks post op. 3 weeks. It is going to take 6 months to even see what we are really going to look like and the scar WILL fade and flatten...I hate seeing you put so much pressure on yourself. We are our own worse enemies. My husband shudders every time he looks at my scar...he hasn't told me I look beautiful and I would like for him to say that but you know what? I really don't care! I think I look great. Yes, I have a frankenstein scar and yes it is going to take time to fade. I will never be able to wear the bikini I wore when I was 20...those days have long passed and that is OKAY! I proudly pass the torch to the 20 year old of today! I have my kids and so much more wisdom! :) Give yourself time. Just think how good you look for 3 WEEKS post surgery! Just think about how great you will look in 3 more weeks! Try to keep positive and don't blame yourself for not wearing the "right" thing to get marked in. My PS didn't give me that option and our surgeons know we want the scar as low as possible, it had nothing to do with what you wore. I think you look FAN-Flipping-Tastic. :) Chin up!

I have an appointment on Friday and I will ask him. I know that he told me but I don't remember the number. I know that the total between lipo and tummy tuck was at 2 pounds. Which is amazing I think! :)

Right at two weeks for me and I am still hunched over in the evening (17 days out)

I think most are talking about a Spank Body Girdle. They come up high waisted, under the breast and you can get them in a panty form, short form etc. I have a couple pairs of spanx from before tt and they were too tight and uncomfortable to wear. I bought a cheap (hanes) compression panty to wear under my binder.

I struggled with the reclined position as well. I found that I could slightly shift to my hip with a pillow under the tummy area and a firm pillow across my chest to rest my head...it helped ease the tailbone pain. My dr. also gave me a rx for muscle relaxers. He offered xanax but I turned that down. Might get something to take the edge off for a few days so you can rest. My binder, I wear a "light CG" first (2 sizes too big) and then my binder over that. It feels much better to me. I actually love my binder. I feel snug and secure!
