I wonder if you'll have to remove your IUD, no clue. Well it's the same hormones in the pill so they might. Definitely bring it up. Sounds like everything is falling into place out there, I always take that as a sign, things falling perfectly into place that it's meant to be. Let's just hope meeting the surgeon will go as smooth for you! :)

I'm based in BC. My surgeon is here in Van. I've spoken with other prairie ladies who came to BC to do it though, apparently the only financial inconvenience is of course your travel and hotel stay, if you don't have family and friends here. The surgery is covered by our medical so you don't pay anything other than air and hotel or just air if you have people's houses to stay at. Anemia, hm, well definitely talk to him about that because they will take that into consideration when they give you your prescriptions. Obviously you can't not take something because you're already going to be losing blood during surgery, so that won't work. Every surgeon is different but definitely bring it up to him, he may be ok with you continuing your vitamins. I had to go off birth control, (OH YA no birth control a month before if you can) but women with PCOS who have to take it daily have been told they can stay on it, just might mean they'll have to take anti coagulants longer etc. There's ways around everything medically, obviously they just want as little obstacles as possible, for everyone.

I didn't see this before commenting. If you're up for out of province, the wait in Vancouver is potentially a lot less. Like it's possible to find someone to get you done during summer break, if you have one. We have a lot of specialists here.

HEY! I'm from BC. Quick note, if there is anyway you could have your surgery here, do it. Our waits are shorter. You should have a say in your date, after your consultation if you tell them you're aiming for a certain time due to school they will just call you when that round of dates comes available. You should be able to get E.I, I think they do up to 15 weeks for sick leave. You should have a consult and a pre-op appointment. My surgeon just says "No multi vitamins, Vitamin E thins your blood, no advil or aspirin, it also thins blood." stop all that at least 2 weeks before your surgery. It's good to have a couple of consults. I had two. Just because one has better reviews, doesn't mean he is good for you. Know what I mean jelly bean? Weight watchers is excellent. I have lost 86lbs in the last year, my advice to you: looks are deceiving. By that I mean; a large caesar salad with grilled chicken has more fat than a burger with a slice of cheese and salad on the side. Pick your battles wisely and use the internet when going out to eat. There are websites that have all the point values to even places like Ihop and starbucks! I think that's where a lot of people fail. If it's not in the "book" or they aren't sure, they won't eat it. I say that's bull, google it. If you know you are going to Moxie's google their menu, point it out and know what you are going to eat before you go. You'll do great. Check out the "healing diet" from breasthealthonline. It's tough, primarily the no caffeine, no alcohol and limited sugar but it's a way of eating to promote healing and you definitely want to heal well. Sorry for the essay! Good luck!!

Your boobs haven't dropped or fluffed yet, lots of ladies I've talked to (I'm still waiting for my sugery, can't wait!!) said they felt too small at first but they realised that A) Their perception on size was different than "normal" so it took some getting used to and B) they were much happier once their tissue started softening and filling out, right now due to all the trauma they've tightened and firmed up. So give it some time, you're only 1 week out, I think you're looking great now!!
