As I previously posted I tried Botox (for forehead and specifically for the lines between my brows) and had the headache. It did pass by the 8th week. I also had a lack of energy and even felt mildly depressed. It too passed. I loved the results that lasted over 9 months.
So time having passed and I kind of forgot the pain or was in denial about how I felt the first time and decided to try it again; this time Dysport. I experienced no side effects this time. None! This was a new practicioner. I told him about the headache I had had last time and he told me that the headache is caused by the technique used. The old method was to go in deep to the bone and then back out a bit and deposit under the muscle. He claims that causes the headache. He uses a newer, different method. This time I had no headache! Dysport gave a very natural looking and not frozen in place look although one brow line still crinkled a bit. (I'm a big squinter and a frowner!) Plus it only lasted a couple months.
Thanks to a special at the med spa, I tried Dysport again 5 months later. Again I had no negative side effects. But this time it failed to freeze the squinchy brow lines at all. So I went back in 14 days later and he touched me up. Within 2 days of the touch up the side effect headache hit! So much for his headache theory! And to top it off I can still squint and get lining in my brow! I've learned my lesson this time. This is the end of my Botox/Dysport experience.
