Hi 80s girl - if they are saline then you might be ok to leave them in depending on who you talk to...If they are silicone - everyone seems to agree to get them out! I finally found a PS who recommends explantation if you are experiencing any health issues that might be related- even though the jury is still out on whether they are the cause. I think you should try to find a PS that you like and have confidence in. I went to 3 before deciding on the one to do my explant. There's a surgeon's list on breastimplantsupportforum.org that you might find helpful. If you can travel - there are many member recommended ones on this list. Also, check out other women's stories there - they are amazing. Best of luck to you!
Hi BeagleBaby - I was considering going to Dr Khouri for a consult for Brava/fat grafting ...would you mind sharing costs - I know its different for everyone - so maybe just the range? Otherwise, no worries - I will call for a consult....its such a big factor for me as I am about to spend $12000 for explant/lift! But I really like the results he's getting. My PS recommended him to me! Best of luck!
Hi Karen - I'm worried about same - mine is 11/12 and I have to fly home on 11/19. My doc says it s/not be a problem & we'll probably take them out at follow-up appt. on Fri 11/16!
Very good info - thanks Green Temple. I am anxious myself about explanting but already went through the initial shock of getting them drained first. I was wondering how many women needed to wear drains after capsulectomy? That's what my doctor wants to do and I'm not looking forward to it! Any info/ comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
