I just went through rhinoplasty and my situation was very similar to yours in that I didn’t want anyone to know. As a guy it’s not something you want to discuss or talk to anyone about its just something you secretly do if you want it bad enough. I’m past my twenties but I only wish I had done it when I was your age so that I could have enjoyed it soo much more so yes I’m not going to discourage it but at the same time it’s a serious decision that you really got to commit yourself to. Hiding it is really not a big deal, I never told a sole other than my surgeon and what I did was went on “vacation” for a week and when I came back my family didn’t even notice despite the fact I have significant changes. Let’s just say that even two days after my cast was off I got some strange advances from some very attractive women and that never happened to me in my life (I usually had to do all the hard work) so yeah pretty significant changes.
I did get a black eye and most people do so that you may have to lie and say you got punched or something. I also wear glasses but you can not wear them for at least a month or it can damage the healing nose. Plan on wearing a cast on your nose for at least a week and you’ll have to lay low for that time so I suggest getting a nice room and plenty of food and stuff for at least a few days, I rented a furnished apartment instead of a hotel room so I could relax but a hotel isn’t that bad. It’s usually safe to walk around after the fist few days in fact I did the next day but I wasn’t supposed to but I’m active by nature so it was hard to just lay around all day. As for the first night you can hire a nurse to stay with you the first 24 hrs after surgery most require at least someone with your for 24 hrs but after that you can stay alone, its not that big of a deal. The nurse will pick you up also so you’re good there or the other option is an after-care facility and again they will pick you up from surgery. Once the cast is off you should be able to return home and yeah it will be a little swollen but as long as you don’t mention it most people will not even notice, surprisingly people that have known you most of your life wont even notice.
Basically the only person that you really need to be totally honest and open with is the surgeon and the staff make sure they know you’ll be alone and they will help set up post surgery care and assistance that you need for the first 24 hours post-op. Your biggest challenge will not but trying to hide it but finding a good surgeon you need to consult several before deciding and you really, really need to do research and find out how they rank in customer satisfaction. Most of that info can be found on sites like this one and a few others like it. Most states also have licensing records that you can check to see if a surgeon has been sued for malpractice, again do your research and don’t shop by price because the cheapest isn’t usually the best and the most expensive can be overrated so again do your own research and consulting before making a choice. Best of luck
