Hi all, This photo was taken immediately after sanitary tapes were removed. I should mention that there was no pain to the infected area, nor an exposed implant. Rather, the surgical site had some infection, and a large scab of some hardened blood (the dark spot that appears to be necrotic tissue, but is not!). I went to the hospital when pus began to seep from underneath the tape and a part of the incision swelled, and they prescribed the doxycycline after examining the breast. I have been keeping the site clean and placing gauze pads over the breast, and it seems to be healing. It is still pink and swollen around the areola, but the infected places are closing up and healing steadily. There is no pain or fever, but it occasionally itches, which I ignore. My surgeon has informed me that I will likely have a "less ideal-looking" breast due to my husband's actions so soon after my surgery. I will likely have to have a revision if I want it to match the perfect breast on the other side.
