Ummm...what a ridiculous thing for your surgeon to say. If you feel uneasy about having this guy perform your surgery, you should look around for a new surgeon. Sure, it's going to be a hassle, and will probably push your surgery date out past April, but if you're going to be spending all that money to have this new nose for the rest of your life, you definitely should feel 100% confident about the decision.
I've definitely had the same concerns as you. My nose is still so swollen, and when I look at it, I have those moments of 'wow, all that money for this?' And I did SO much reading on the internet to find out how people's swelling lasted for months, and that their noses seemed bigger than they were before, and sure enough, the swelling eventually went down. Give it some time, think positively...I think we're all going through the same stuff in one way or another!
You know, I don't really know why he didn't have to break it. During my consultation, he felt around on my nose, and said then that he probably wouldn't have to break it.
Do not think about what will actually be done to you! I kept grossing myself out every time I did that. Just keep thinking about what it's going to look like after you're all done with it. As they say, keep your eye on the prize. :)
