I think I was also damaged by IPL. I have Rosacia and have been getting IPL on the butterfly and sometimes my whole face for years now, but the last 2 treatments were REALLY painful and I was left bruised a longtime after ( over 3 days).
I didn't notice anything wrong the first 6 months then I noticed my cheeks were sagging a bit, pores were very visible on my cheeks and around my temples I have that odd soft mushy orange peel slightly wrinkly skin (exactly like in KikiLisa cheek pictures). It has gotten worse over time. I had a second (again very painful IPL 2 years later and now I REALLY see changes) I thought I was crazy at first but now I am panicking reading these testimonials. I am only 38, I used to look so young and fresh now i look a LOT older even my undereye circles have gotten darker. It is NOT normal ageing, people say it is but no one ages this fast overnight. I feel sick because this was a medical doctor in a clinic, not a salon, and I was being treated for Rosacia. I don't regret the Rosacia getting treated (butterfly zone) BUT they TOLD me the IPL would have an added anti ageing benefit and I figured why not get the whole face done at the same time...
Will Retin-A help firm my skin again?? The damage is done I know that, but can it somewhat be fixed? God I am so upset, I always took care of my skin, never went in the sun, never smoked or drank and this happened. I could just cry, a womans skin is her identity and I look tired all the time now and I am scared more changes will happen over time.
