I had a Fleur De Lis TT November 12th and have breezed thru the recovery! I too was on the internet all day and awake all nite before the surgery. I lost 6 lbs from just nerves. I had a fantastic Dr and wonderful team working on me so just as soon as I arrived the day of the surgery I was "taken care of". I went home the following day with no pain and a pocket full of pain meds..,...I never took one. I did have to take meds for healing and infection, just for protection, but needed nothing for pain (I did take a pill for sleeping for the first 3 nites). I was of course sore and felt tight,so I did not stand up straight for a few days. I had only one drain and had that removed by my 1 week apt. All in all I have to say it was "easy" ... I did take care of myself by not doing much and resting every afternoon. By the second week I was walking my dog in the afternoon and feeling great...the only downside was the swelling...,I wore my compression garmet all the time. I gave up wearing it around week 5 okr 6 but still put on a wrap around compression to sleep in (havent been wearing it for a week or so nowa). I am now at week 10+ and feel right back to normal and have for quite some time. I do have a small area of swelling that does not seem to go away but I have been told to be patient.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FLEUR DE LIS...I WILL BE THINKING OF YOUI!!!
Hi fellow TTers....All has gone very well with my TT done on November 12th, Recovery has been so much easier than I anticipated but I do have a question. Is swelling (in the middle just above the incision line) normal 10 weeks out? It does go down a bit when sleeping but there is still a pooch in the morning and it gets a little larger as the day goes on.
I am going in for my fleur de lis next Monday and I am up tight...cant sleep, I spend the entire night thinking! I am too old to be doing this (I am 66) most of you TT ers will have 40 or more years to enjoy your results ...I will have 15 or 20 years if I am lucky. But I have decided I want to go out in style!!!!
Hi again .... I am following your TT trip word by word. I will have my TT (fleur de lis with lipo and muscle repair) on Monday Nov 12th. I have been so pleased with all the staff at Dr Verne's and feel so much better about this decision since having my pre-op apt with the surgical side people, they were wonderful and aleviated most if not all of my concerns. I too have been put on a diet and have filled my meds (same as the ones you had) I received your e-mail but unfortunately I can not reply as the sender e-mail has been blocked by real self. I will keep in touch with you thru this site tho. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INFO AND SUPPORT!
Hi Rockstar...So nice to hear from someone who has had this done with the PS I have chosen! I was so impressed with Dr W. and all his staff during the initial consultation, they really put me at ease (untill I got home and wondered just what was I thinking..I am 66) I have been up and I have been down about doing this but I REALLY want the end result so here goes! I am going to have a Fleur de Lis TT on November 12th with lipo. I was actually going for my pre op tomorrow but re-scheduled because of a 2 hour ride in pouring rain and high winds. They were great and will work me in the next day. Keep me posted with your recovery and I will let you know when I get to the flat side!!
