I just had my tummy tuck 5 weeks ago and have this same ring around my belly button. After reading all your comments I asked my PS about it today and this was his response. "My technique for the belly button is to make a circular incision around the belly button approximately 2 cm in diameter, bring it out through a circular incision in the skin, and suture it circumferentially around. There is a circular scar around the belly button that should gradually fade with time, but will not ever completely go away. Using scar care on the scar will help it to fade. I recommend using it twice daily for six months. I have found that making the circle smaller sometimes causes contraction of the scar so that the belly button becomes constricted. I avoid that by making the circle the size that I do now. I do not encounter constriction of the belly button, but there is a visible scar around the belly button".
