  • Posted to Has anyone had a limited tummy tuck ( only excess skin removal & belly button re-position)? on 11 Jan 2013
Thanks for the nice somments, I had exactly the same prodecure and for the same reason. Just muscle tightening and removal of excess skin. It was a full tummy tuck but I don't think the scar extends too far because I didn't have much body fat. I think it's the greatest provided you find the right doctor and take care of the incision and stick with lots of protein and vitamins. At two weeks you start feeling better each week. At one month kind of back to normal but by month 2-3 you're almost 90% back minus the swelling, scar treatment, and caution with exercise particularly ab work. I have not one regret but the first two weeks was harder than I had anticipated.

Didn't hurt me at all... she took them out very slowly. Easiest part of the whole procedure and it's so nice not to have to worry about them. Just focus on something else and before you know it they're out.

Hi, I'm at 6 weeks going on 7 next Wednesday. You seem to have the same thing I do, the swelling above the incision and roll. How long did it take for the swelling to go down and was it a gradual thing? I constantly have this roll/hard ridge above the center of my incision and so if I put on something tight it's this odd little pooch. Not sure if you can see it in my pictures but as I said I am six weeks and hoping it improves down the road. Thanks,

Not sure I didn't ever wear a binder, not even right after surgery. My doctor ony recommended binders for patient undergoing lipo. I had a small amount only at the ends of my incision to smooth out the area. I kept hearing about the binder and people wearing one but I healed up nicely with minimal swelling and no discomfort. The one restriction they put on me which makes sense is not to wear tight underwear, jeans or anything that can leave a mark on the area where the muscles and skin were worked on. I wear a lot of dresses and panties that go under the incision. At three months there should be enough healing of the scar tissue so I don't have to worry about indentations. For the gas, just watch what you eat and it should improve over time.

I agree and really was excited to start after week one but my PS said he wanted me to wait a full 6 weeks before doing anything other thanlight walking. He explained a lot of the restriction are because they don't want you to raise your blood pressure until the risk of complications is over. When I hit that six week mark I was so excited. The one thing I couldn't do was planks so I will have to go easy with the yoga and stretching. I agree totally the better you go in to the surgery the better your results. Be careful though and don't do too much just eat right and concentrate on healing the exercise will come soon enough.
