Hey! I had it done at 17. I think it is an appropriate age to have the surgery as you're young and healthy! The experience was great actually. I thought it would be much worse than what it was! The anticipation is definitley the worst part of the whole experience!!! It wasn't painful at all, just a bit of pressure on the nose on the 2nd day but that's it. The worst week was definitely the first week as the drugs make me feel crap and I was sick because of them -_- Pain was about 2! My bruising went away within 2-3 weeks. Nobody has noticed my nose which is the best thing about it! My parents are the only ones who know about it. I did not tell any friends and they have not noticed! Or they don't want to say anything!?! haha. I feel exactly the same as I did before I had it done! However, I feel a little less self councious and I don't care if people stare at me from the side anymore, which is a great feeling! And the sleeping part.... I slept with a wedge pillow for the 1st week and then a neck pillow for about 2-3 weeks after. After that I slept as I normally do. I highly recommend a wedge pillow and neck pillow for the first few weeks for a comfortable sleep!! :D

It's funny because you said when the cast is removed you might look like an avatar and I actually do! hahhaha

I also just had surgery this past Wednesday (12th) and had my nostrils made narrower as well. I haven't really read a lot of reviews where the nostrils have been narrowed. There is a lot of dried blood around the nostrils which isn't nice and I haven't managed to get it off. It seems so delicate. Have you managed to clean the blood around the nostrils? I'd love to see your after photos! When do you get your cast off? :)

Thank you so so much for a detailed reply. It's so great to know other people have had pretty much the same experience! I get my cast off in 2 days (tuesday) so I can't wait to get my smell back but i've come to terms with the fact it will be extremley swollen for a couple of weeks! I don't think i'll be too bothered about that, well I hope so. It'd be great to see some photos of your new nose. I will try and post pictures later this week :)
