POST OP DAY 6 - Today I saw Dr. Pousti for my 2nd post op visit. I am progressing well thus far. My drains were removed and my dressings changed. I was given some firm reminders about taking good care of myself, no lifting, elbows at my side and no vigorous activity for the next four weeks (no housework or lifting). Since I am an R.N., my surgeon jokes with me that he thinks that I will look at his "post op instructions" as "suggestions", but I am going to follow his orders to THE T! I LOVE my new breasts! I dont want to pop any sutures, or delay my healing. I got my first, brief, look at them today without bandages or tubes and they feel lighter and look quite perky. They are still quite swollen, so it kind of looks like I have implants (which I dont). I was assured that the swelling will decrease with time and the shape of my breast will continue to evolve. In the meantime, I feel so grateful being in the capable hands of my husband who has been SO empathetic and supportive. Then my Dr. who has called me himself EVERYDAY since post op day 1 or has had his wonderful assistant Daisy call just to check in on me and make sure I was feeling okay and that has made such a HUGE difference for my recovery experience. I am feeling great!
Oh my Goodness nydiva4u!!! That sounds so scary. Im sorry that happened to you. You seem to be taking this all in stride, moving forward with a positive attitude. I had my reduction just one day before yours. I still have bandages and drains and have only been able to take "sponge baths"!! At this point, I just want a shower :) YES!!!! Shopping will be SO fabulous!
