Hi,
You will find my posts and pics from the past 3 weeks post procedure under llsunny or look up "Chemical Peel-Day to Day Details of my...." I wanted to give you a tip about make-up. I have ordered 3 products from Glominerals via the internet. They have their own site and it can also be ordered from Dermstore.com. I spent $99 and it was well worth it!!! Check out my postings for additional hints. I hope you are doing well!
Kristin,
I've been thinking of you and hope things are getting better! It's been almost a week. How do you feel? During my research, I read that some surgeons apply bandages. Dr. Garramone did not do that. I've never discussed the reasons some surgeons do so and what is his opinion of this practice. Perhaps you can enlighten me.
I am feeling great! Currently I am using just a bit of Cetaphyl to cleanse and I am using organic cold pressed coconut oil on my face. Dr. G was going to have me continue using a light coat of Aquaphor, but I do not use products with petrolum or mineral oil on my skin. Neither penetrate one's skin. I understand its use in the healing process because it creates a barrier for the skin. When I saw him last week, I had tried samples of a day and night pharmaceutical grade moisturizers. They had irritated my skin so badly, that I had used coconut oil for two days prior to seeing him. I use it regularly on my whole body. He said I could continue using it. It has helped. Each day I am less pink. Actually, much less than I expected at this point.
I ordered a couple of products from Glominerals which is the mineral make-up offered by his skin care specialist. When I saw her last week, she said I wasn't ready to try them yet. However, I knew I would be using them, so I ordered from the internet. I ordered a redness relief loose powder, a concealer, and a pressed mineral make-up. I used them yesterday for the first time, applying them all with brushes. I like the product!
Yesterday, was exactly 3 weeks from the procedure date. I will post some pics of the past 4 days.
I hope you are doing well!!! Let me know.
Megan,
I have a hard time navigating the site. I searched under Chemical Peels, I narrow to recent, and I still can't find 6kings. In addition, I can never find my own review unless I search the first 4 words in my title. Any suggestions??
Thank you girls! Are you nervous Kristin? Did you use a skin prep for several weeks? I am anxious to meet with Christine on Friday and begin using a cleanser, etc. My face continues to have little blemishes, etc. The cleanser I used prior to surgery and during skin prep, although mild, seems to be too drying. My face feels really dry. Dr. G said that he would suggest that I continue Retin-A and Obagi Clear (deminishes brown spots) as part of my long-term skin care, but I won't be able to use those products until about 3 months out. From everything I understand, the smoothness and continual improvement of my face will only get better!
