Karrileugh, I am starting to feel better, they took the feeding tube out and that is wonderful that thing hurt. I still have low energy, gets better everyday. My blood levels are on the rise which is a good thing. That is to bad that you had to go back into the hospital. Hope you are doing well now. I have not had any problems eating I'm still on soft foods I don't want to puch it. Bending over and sleeping at night is tough. I got air pockets in my back and shoulder right after surgery and it still bothers me, very painful. I tried to chew the vitamins and they were bad so I have started taking VitaFusion PreNatal Gummy vitamins. They go down great chew them well. They also make a chewable calcium and have no problem with them either . Many people I have talked to that have done the bypass say make sure you take all vitamins and other pills and you'll be ok. I can't wait until I feel good enough to start working out to tone all this loose skin. Good luck to you and a speedy recovery to you.

Hello, I am 13 days post op. I had to have mine done the old fashioned way since I also had stapling done 26 yrs ago , I had a lot of scar tissue that attached to my spleen. When my dr went to move it out of the way it tore and I had so much bleeding that they took it out. I stayed in hospital 6 days my blood count was 14 when I went in and when they let me out it was 8.7. My energy level is very low I can't do a hole lot. I go to the doctor in two days and I hope they take this awful feeding tube out of me they have not had to use it anyway. I feel good otherwise just no energy. I know this is going to pass soon I have been able to eat purred foods . I started this in May at 284 and after I lost 50 lbs on my own to have the surgery now I weigh in at 217. I am so glad to here you are doing great and hopeful I will be there to soon .

Karrileigh, I can across this while tring to find other people that have had this redone and then i found you. I also had the stomach stapling 26 years ago and the staple line failed and i regained my weight. I vowed to never have the sugery redone because it was so painfull and it did not work. But as the years went by i found meself at the highest weight ever 283lb and i am 5'1. I have been having leg problems as i stand on my feet all day for my job, back aches, head eches, tired all of the time. January 2012 my dad had a thriple bypass, he has been very overweight, high blood pressure, diabetes and not healthy ever. So i finally made the desission to have my stapling fixed. I have two grandchildern and i want to live to see them grow up. I started optifast in May2012 and have lost 49lbs (Doctor would not do the procedure until i lost 40lbs first) since it is higher at risk. They say i have one good thing going for me, i have none of these alments. Since i had the open procedure 26years ago, they are doing it open again and i have to say i am a little freaked out about that. They have scheduled me October1st for the surgery. I am prepared to change my life and how i eat. I have a good support system my husband is behind me and so is the rest of my family. I wish you luck and would love to here from you.
