I just went in for my 3 month check up. I was also disappointed and rather worried as although my stomach was hard, i felt constantly blown up like a balloon, it was tender and I seemd to be bigger and heavier than before the procedure. My doctor suggested that my body was fighting itself and gave me steroid injections locally to the stomach, then 3 days later a general steroid injection. Almost instantly my stomach started to deflate and I'm feeling so much better. The steroids reduce inflammation considerably. I still haven't got the very noticeable results i'd expected after 3 months, but I now have hope again that changes are happening. It may be worth discussing steroids with your dr to see if they may help.
Very comforting to read all your comments, I have just had my two month check up, i had stomach, hips and back roll done I'm still
quite swollen, but everything is much flatter and back roll gone, I was concerned as my measurements and weight haven't changed. But doc says its fluid retention and will probably take another couple of months to see real effect. It's been a long hard haul, but think it will be worth it. I agree patience is key. Good luck
I was so glad to read your post, I had not expected to struggle to find anything to wear post op, but I have put on 3 kilo I am day 8 now. Today all the areas I had done have gone rock solid and my pressure garment is straining. However my Dr says that this is the next perfectly normal stage in healing and I should start to slowly deflate from now on :)) I REALLY hope so. I think it is important for others going into this to realise that no you can't throw all your 'fat' clothes out yet, I nearly did :) keep hold of them for a while, then hopefully you can ceremoniously burn them along with the pressure garment in a couple of months
It has been so useful and encouraging to read the posts on here. I am lying here day 2 post surgery. I had body jet on my abdomen, hips and a little. From my inner thighs. I had general anesthetic and stayed in overnight. It was scary to get up and go home. As i was sore . I have a regimen of antibiotics and swelling relief medications to take and of course the lovely corset contraption. I am black and blue and swollen, but already today I feel much less tender than yesterday and I ve found moving around seems to help more than laying still. I'm seeing the dr again in the morning , so hopefully he can let me know what happens next with regards to swelling etc. I'm concerned about the bruising but really looking forward to watching how my body changes over the next few weeks, I can already see my stomach will be flat. I'll let you know how things go :)
