Hi Tobethinner,
I'm happy that I could help you. During my consultation I talked to the surgeon for quite a while about the procedure, then I changed into a gown and he took a look at my tummy. After that we discussed my expectations and what he thought the Vaser lipo could do for me. At the end of the consultation he gave me an estimate of the cost of the procedure, mine including vela shape contouring (which will be done in another month or so) and the cost of the garment came to $3,000. I also am seeing him weekly for follow-up appointments.
I saw him today and he said that everything looked great so I was very happy about that, the swelling is starting to go down slowly, but surely.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or anything, I'll be happy to help.
Hi Tobethinner,
My measurements are very similar to your's. I am 5'4 and now weigh 171-172, but before I had the vaser lipo I weighed 190. First, I will tell you that everyone's experience is different during the procedure...I did fine, but I was asked if I wanted to have the medication in the IV so I would not feel anything going in to my belly button and I'm very happy that I did it that way. I just had a peaceful sleep and woke up after the procedure was done. I experienced some pain (not unbearable) and more of being uncomfortable for the first 2-3 days, but it is managable. I had it done on a Thursday afternoon and returned to work that Monday so it's not nearl as awful as some of the postings that I have read on the site. The garment is probably the most irritating thing to get used to in the beginning, but after a few days it's ok.
With my experience I had (2) consultations with different surgeons and both of them said I should have a tummy tuck and then I went to another one who offered vaser lipo in addition to tummy tuck and I decided to let him do it. During the consultation he did explain to me that my tummy would not be totally flat and I would not have a 6-pack, if I wanted that I would need a tummy tuck. However, he did assure me that I would probably go down a couple of dress sizes and my overall shape would be dramatically better.
It has only been 13 days since I had my vaser lipo and I'm already down 1 dress size and it does make it easier for me to continue to lose the weight that I want to lose (my goal is at least 145lb).
Anyway, after looking at your picture your shape was very similar to mine and I can already see a big difference with me. I know that alot of people are happy with the results of a tummy tuck, but there is alot of money, pain and time that goes along with it. I paid $3500 for vaser lipo rather than the $7500-$8000 for a tummy tuck.
I apologize for rambling, but I wanted to give you a thorough answer. I would suggest to do your homework and contact surgeons or facilities in your area that perform vaser lipo and go for a consultation. I have been very happy so far.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need more information.
Swetty, thank you so much for your quick reply. I am still researching the whole process, but I really appreciate your input and I will keep your phone number handy if I have any questions about the procedure.
Hi, I also live near Baton Rouge. Can you please post your pictures and tell me how much the tummy tuck alone cost? I am very anxious to do something after having my son (12 years ago!) and a hysterectomy 4 years ago. My body seems to have never recovered between the two and it makes me miserable.
Anyway, sorry to ramble, but any information that you can pass on to me would be greatly appreciated!! :)
