Also a lot of doctors would said that hair loss after Botox has never been reported. Well this is what we are doing now. We are reporting this issue ;) Kindly look into it.
Hello ladies, Thank God I found this forum!
I suffer from significant hair loss after botox. It is only this week that I actualy tied the two together.
I suffer from hyperhydrosis so I use botox on regular basis under armpits. It gives great results, hair keep growing. I used botox since 2005. Felt great.
in 2011 I noticed that my forehead would need a botox help. So far I had 4 sessions.
I have been loosing tons of hair especially on by forehead just right above the hairline. I used to wear headbands like crazy but now I cannot because of small bold places on my scalp. It is really depressing.
I thought that I did it to myself my using minoxidil ( I started using it in feb 2012 and continued till oct 2012. Lot's of hair fell out. But I have not used it on entire head. Only on two places. I thought that using minoxidil might affected other parts on my head so hair fel out but it was not the case.
I discontinued using minoxidil. Hair did not regrow.
Recently (begining of Dec 2012) I went for another botox injection on my forehead. I have now visible scalp on my entire forehead. I do not look good and people at work (especially men started to talk, commenting on my look and how unfeminine I look now ;( )
I examined my diet and thought why my hair bulbs keep falling out. I'm tall so I tied this with the fact that maybe hair do not have enought blood circulation comming towards the bulbs ( I also have cold hands and feet all the time) so I started adding circulation....lack of it...paralised forehead and eureka..maybe it is botox because on the rest part of my head I have all the hair I had before. I'm eating a lot of vitamins and it does not help. I look pathetic.
I just hope that at least some of my hair will grow back. I'm 29, engaged last year..and would I like to see myself and my lack of hair on wedding pics..no... ;( I always had thin hair (like a baby hair, very gentle and thin) and now even do not have those.
and I also have this itchy sensation on my head when hair are falling out and also itchy sensation over my brows at times.
It must be botox. I will start massaging my forehead where my hairline is..maybe this will help...
too bad..I'd rather have hair and go for hialuronic acid then be bald and have straight forhead.
and just think that I wanted to inject botox to the area where my hair grows so I would not sweat like a pig during the summer (I also heard that some doctor from Australia used botox and mesotherapy to cure hairloss but at this point I'm done with botox)
I went to a doctor and asked for some blood tests and we will see maybe this is something else...
but I'm like 99% sure it is botox..

Hey Allie, I have the same thing. I suffer both from anxiety and from an excess sweating under armpits and from the scalp (whole head where hair grows..it looks like I would took a shower ;/)
Botox injections makes wonders with my armpit sweating (but is expensive ;() but I'm still looking for a solution to cranial hyperhydrosis (head face sweating). Sadly nothing seems to work for that. I haven't try oral treatment prescribed by a dermathologist but I tried some oral herbal pills that can be bought without perscription and those did not work for me)
I think that anxiety has a lot to do with te way we sweat. I have been to a doctor once and mentioned that I have hyperhydrosis and also irritable bowel sydrome, anxiety etc (yes I know...nothing to be proud of ;) ) he told me that I sweat a lot because I'm anxious. It is like I was constantly ready and waiting for something, to be attacjed, to fight and my body reacts with sweat (covering my hands, arms ,shoulders) so that in case somebody caught my arm I could escape because my body is slippery... and for the first time I actually believed that this is in fact true. That is why I sweat - because I'm anxious.
Hello, does the smartlipo effect is permanent to treat hyperhydrosis or it is like with botox - lasts only for a period of time?
also should I get laser treatment during smartlipo procedure for any leftover sweat glands ( I've heard that if not then sweat glands will grow back)..is this true?
