As an Ultherapy provider in our office, I think you had a bad experience. This is not the normal outcome for this procedure. Your mouth drooping is the result of nerve swelling. It will return back to normal, but the person who did your treatment hit your marginal mandibular nerve, causing your tissue to swell around it, compressing the nerve. There is no permanent damage from Ulthearpy, even in the wrong hands, however, this sounds like an untrained provider. Ultherapy is a wonderful treatment. I hope this story doesn't scare anybody out of having the procedure! I am very sorry this happened to you!

Ultherapy has science behind it that does work. The unfortunate part is that not every single thing works for every single body. I perform all of the Ultherapy procedures at my office, and I have lots of great results, but I do have some 'non responders' as well. Photos are crucial for the procedure. Having a great camera system that can capture subtle changes and take consistent photos is almost as important as the treatment itself. We had the Ulthearpy unit before having a great camera, and I was feeling negative about the treatment as well. I'm very sorry that you did not have a great experience with the treatment. Lack of results, money spent, and pain can leave you with a bad taste in your mouth, but Ultherapy can be the answer for thousands of patients wanting a non surgical option!

Peels have a hard time treating hyperpigmented scarring. Try the Obagi line to address the scarring. The lightening agents will work better than any peel. Good luck!

Herpetic lesions are common with any chemical peel. Generally, if you are prone to them, you should take an anti-viral before a peel, during, and after to ensure that you do not get any lesions. The Spa should have given you a rx of acyclovir or something before hand. Refunding for the peel really wouldn't be the right course of action. Also, with any type of chemical peel, it can pull acne out of the skin faster than it would have surfaced on its own. The VI peel is an amazing peel, and you should have great looking skin after all is said and done. If you scar, then they should treat the scars at no cost to you.

I just basically said the same thing before this comment!! I'm glad somebody else was thinking that! I would bet that the injection caused this. I perform the Ultherapy Treatments in my office, and I've never made it a practice to inject the welts that can sometimes form. They go away with time.
