Hmmm. I put in an update post and I'm not sure where it posted. I'll try again.
Nice to see posters I posted with for a long time and new posters. PBelli, I think of you often and hope you have found some relief. Springup, really hoping you are well and happy.
I'm still pleased with my recovery (over a year and half now) and how I look. Still have a bit of neck and top of the head numbness in the cold and when I'm tired, but I don't mind it. Its so nice to have been able to have my surgery and be done with the initial recovery. Wishing you all a wonderful 2013 and happy results.

Kash2 - I am so very sorry to hear about your husband. I'm sending many positive thoughts out to you both.
About the forum -- I notice that now the most recent posts are at the top and the old ones are further down. Perhaps this forum was down for a bit to make that change? Its a very helpful change since it took forever to try and get to the bottom to post a comment if you hadn't commented in awhile.
Pbelli - may the new PS have some magic for you, you are due some magical pain relief.
I'm still happy with my results and happily working in my yard with fall clean up. Sending all my best wishes to any of you in pain or recovery issues, and special thoughts to Kash2 and her husband.
Ohhhh, look at all the nice new people in this forum! Its so fun to see all of you again and hi to all the new people.
I feel as if I've graduated and gone on and I'm just stepping back in to say hi and offer encouragement to everyone newly recovering and still working on recovery.
I am a year and two months out and I'm completely happy with my facelift. My sister took me to lunch last week and told me I look great. She was so scared when I did this and she said after my surgery for months she was afraid I'd always look like a bald cat. This was after I stopped looking like a pumpkin.
I'm so happy I had my facelift, I HATED my eyes and neck and I think I look wonderful now. Its not perfect, but perfect can look fake. I have little marionette lines and little crows feet. My skin is still breaking out and my dermatologist has me using Differin (I nearly croaked when I saw what it cost) and its helping.
I could use some laser work for my little red capillaries on my face, but I think I can run faster than anyone who came at me with a laser or a needle or a scapel these days. I don't know if I'll ever be brave enough for any more face work.
Wonderful Pbelli - I had so hoped you would be having more pain free days now. My skin lady took my Clairsonic away from me, she told me that it is lots more powerful than we realize and that it shakes the underlying skin which has been damaged from the lift to a huge degree. I don't know if stopping the use of your Clairsonic for some months would help? We're all so different its hard to know what would help.
Springup told me that we had lots of new supportive ladies here now and there are old friends here, too, I thought I'd better at least pop in and say hi and give out gentle hugs to all.
I don't know if I'd have believed anyone if they told me how hard the recovery would be, I wanted my facelift and I heal well. Or I thought I healed well. This was new territory for me, but it does get better. There is still a bit of tightness in my neck and top of my head, but my hair has grown back and my eyes look more like mine and I got the results I hoped for. I wanted to look better, not young, just better, and I do.
Hi Kash2! I'm fairly sure it was my doctor who said not to use ice, he also said not to use arnica. I know a lot of others on this site have used both and had good results. I've had other facial surgeries (upper eye, fraxyl), and they all allowed me to use ice and arnica, so I think it was simply my doctor's personal philosophy.
I'm glad you are feeling a little better and I hope you continue to improve quickly (I have that hope for all of you who are hurting right now, actually).
DMorgan - my stitches are all behind my ears and after a year, there is merely a little bumpy spot where they were behind each ear. I've had my internist and my dermatologist both check out my stitches and admire how they've healed. I've not heard of stitches inside the ear, but I'm not an expert either. You could try googling the question "face lift surgery stitches inside the ear" or something similar and see if you got some responses on the internet from other doctors or surgery patients.
