I want to share my experience with the Active FX. I am about to turn 39 and am naturally freckled and fair. Two doctors, a cosmetic surgeon in Manhattan and a very reputable derm, both told me separately that I may want to consider doing a treatment to decrease or eliminate the freckles/age/sun spots on my face. There was no denying they were there, but it never occurred to me to that they could be removed or treated. I work in the beauty industry and have access to some of the truly best specialists. So I went in for the Active FX and let me say, I had the procedure Monday at 2 pm and it is Saturday at 9 pm and I am almost fully healed with the most incredible looking skin, minus slight redness. Now take me back to Monday. I was numbed with cream, Percocet, Vicodin (I am not one to take these drugs, but knew I would need to tolerate the pain) and a few shots in my face. The actual laser did hurt and doing my entire face took one hour. It was not pleasant, but thankfully my doctor was very attentive and always asked if I needed a break. There is major burning for about 3 hours post treatment and every freckle and mark is magnified by 10. I looked scary, but thought it would actually be worse. The next 4 days were hard and every day I saw major improvements. Days 2 and 3 were the worst, with a ton of uncomfortable peeling mixed with the most intense itchiness. I did not sleep a wink one night because of the itchiness. Skip to day 5....my skin is flawless. Not a freckle to be had, smaller pores and no more skin tightening. I can not wait to see what is to come. I have to say though that my doctor (Robert Schwarcz in NYC) is top of his game and while I am not easily sold, the results speak for themselves.
