  • Posted to A Nice Buttock Went Bad from Silicone Injections - Ft. Lauderdale on 25 Aug 2012

I had silicone injected into my legs 11 Years ago and Im still dealing with painful side effects . Ive already had two liposuctions one in 2007 another in 2009, now I might have to go in for a third. One thing that i don't see being pointed out in this thread is the need to visit a Rheumatologist, Rheumatologists are internists or pediatricians who are qualified by additional postgraduate training and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and other diseases of the joints, muscles and bones. If the silicone has migrated to your muscle tissue or other areas then it is very important that you visit a Rheumatologist.
They will provide you with a more accurate diagnosis about your health, and what can be done to help or stabilize your situation. Your first priority should be your health then the way you look. By doing it the other way around things can go terribly wrong as many of us here have learned the hard way.
Silicone has a tendency to migrate in your body, if your immune system begins to fight it, it will start using up all of your white blood cells to do so, once this happens it is a constant war inside your body, since the silicone will not die it will only produce lesions
and cause many health problems. But there are ways to treat this and perhaps prevent it from getting worse, I recommend seeing at least two different Rheumatologists before visiting the plastic surgen and make sure they have treated patients with similar cases to yours.
Ive noticed that most surgens that have little to no experience in this are extremely hesitant to assist you and give you pretty much the worst news possible which can make you fall into deep depression, denial or make you suicidal. So make sure you get plenty of opinions and dont be shy to ask them before the consultation, if they've ever treated patients with your condition,...this could save you allot of time and money.
If you live in the United states then I would recommend researching for good Mexican surgens with experience in this matter. Unfortunately Mexico is one of the countries where illegal silicone injections are most common, therefore, over the years there have been many more cases of silicone removal in Mexico than in the US.
There are also some very good reconstructive surgens here in the U.S. and in Mexico, you just have to do allot of good in depth research.
If you find yourself frustrated, depressed and anxious I would also recommend seeing a psychologist to help you through this process, I know how difficult it can be to talk about it to any one and how heavy it is to keep all the pain to yourself. There is plenty of hope and help out there (try support groups too). Medical advances are being made every day around the world and the more we speak up and voice our experiences the more help we will be able to foster for ourselves and others like us. We need to fight for this to stop happening, a strict law needs to be put into action here and all around the world that will prohibit these kind procedures, This could save tens of Thousands of lives.
Together we can help each other and find ways to better our lives immensely, Please if you have researched or know of any good doctors that specialize in this share their info, or if you have any helpful advice, please post it.
    Thanks!

and always have hope, strength and faith

I just want to say, DON'T DO IT!, If you are thinking of getting cillicone injections STOP!
There are far more cons than pros and you are risking your life.
