hi guys im 3 and a half most post op now and had a sliding genio of 5-6mm. i just wanted to reassure some people reading this that i am still very happy with my results and would certainly recommend it. My face looks longer too but i believe this is because my face is now properly balanced, whereas before it wasn't. also it takes some time to get used to it but now i love it and when i look at my previous photos i think my face looks so disproportioned. i have a lovely jaw line now and it pretty much got rid of my double chin too. please take the time to get used to your new face - good luck!
HI Oliviamb, Thanks! Prof David will show you before/after photos if you request them (i never did as i forgot) but if you PM me with your email i can forward you a pic.
Its been exactly 2 months now and i love my profile! I feel as though i was born like this (or should have been born like this)
Im completely used to my features now and my nose and chin look very, very natural. Prof David will correct your features but he will not create a whole new nose for you or do something that wont suit you. He's a no-fuss Dr and will give you a very honest professional opinion, always. I would certainly recommend him!
Hi Molly, im just wondering how you're going now with your genioplasty now?
i recently had a sliding genioplasty and a rhinoplasty (17 days ago) and so far im pretty happy with the results :)
although my face looks a bit longer too, Im getting used to it and Im liking it more everyday. Also, my lower lip is pulled inwards too (looks smaller), did yours resolve? cheers!
Hi, thanks for the comments - yeah adelaide info is really limited. the emotional shock was really the worst part for me but keep in mind it passes in time. you really must be patient during your recovery because your features will change daily.
I am really liking my results now and im only day 15 :) im very happy with my my nose, its very natural and just a better version of my own. Im loving my chin too. i would say the chin is the biggest change for me. keep in mind it changes the entire shape of your face - including your jaw line and your cheek bones. so far im liking the changes but still getting used to it. Prof David will show you before and after photos at his consult if you ask him (i forgot to ask). but keep in mind your face is unique. what helped me, is that i downloaded an app on my Macbook called 'plastic surgery simulator' and changed my profile on that to give me an idea how i would look. i recently compared my actual photo to that and its very similar! you should definitely try it before you see him. hope that helps x
HI, im day 10 now and i must say that i think i spoke too soon. im really starting to like my nose! my swelling and bruising gets better every day. it really suits my face and looks very natural. Im going for a daily walk and ive noticed the swelling is reduced after walks. its worse in the mornings when i first wake up and improves throughout the day.
I had a rhinoplasty and genioplasty (chin advancement) done at the same time so im not sure how much a rhino would cost on its own. I'd say about $8000 in Adelaide. i think its better to spend more and get an amazing surgeon than spend less and be worried about the result. I went through a Craniomaxilofacial surgeon and he is almost over-qualified! LOL! But he's meant to be one of the best and so far im happy :) hope that helps.
