Couch to 5k is a 9 week run/walk program to get you off the couch to running 5 kilometers (30 minutes). I tried to do it several times in the past, but the bouncing boobers were too uncomfortable, so now I'm hoping it will be easier. Thanks for the Palmers cocoa tip.
Hello ladies, so glad to hear from everyone and you are all doing well. I just got back from my 6 week post op appt. Whew, did those 6 weeks fly by! All is pretty well with me. I still have a scab on lefty's nip and a few small scabs underneath on both lefty and righty. These still have a little oozing occasionally. The PS said to just put neo-sporin on morning and night with a pad in my bra and that should help. Also, lefty is still like a rock. PS said it's scar tissue and to massage it. I have been massaging them, but boy, when he did it, it HURT. I guess I was not doing it hard enough - I was afraid I would damage something. He also said to massage scars and I can use some Vitamin E or some other kind of scar cream - any suggestions out there? I also got clearance to do some running (with a good bra) and lifting weights. (Gotta work on that big gut now). I want to try a Couch to 5K program.
As far as bras, I found the Bali Comfort Revolution that Jacqui mentioned to be quite comfortable. Very soft and feels like I'm hardly wearing anything - what a change from the old contraptions I used to wear. I went back to work last week and have been wearing it. But when I come home I still change into my ol faithful Walmart front close or even the one I wore home after surgeryl. They are kind of like a security blanket LOL. PS said I don't have to wear anything to bed, but since I have to use the neosporin, I guess I will be for a while. Oh, by the way, the PS told me that the internal stiches will take 9-12 months to heal! So I guess I can still use that excuse to get my hubby to do the vacuuming!!!
Congrats RB on your marriage. Loved your nighty story! And love hearing everyone else's healing stories.
Hugs to all!!!!
The waiting is definitely the worst part. I had mine on September 7th, so I am about 1 month post op. The best decision I ever made. I'm one of the older ladies on this board at age 60, and so wish I did this sooner. The best advice I can give you is to get as much rest as possible afterwards. Don't be a hero and try to do too much. You will heal much better. Good luck on your journey!! You will be so happy!!
RB, I swear I will never buy another WHITE bra again!!! I may buy one beige, but plan on buying lots of colors and patterns!! Looking forward to buying a strapless also tee hee.
I actually went bra shopping today at Kohl's and I was like a kid in a candy shop!!! No more stooping down to the bottom of the racks looking for those huge contraptions. Don't know what size I'll eventually end up as, but I measured myself using the Kohl's size guide on line and I am a B. That's a long way from G/H! The first bra I tried on was called "barely there" and guess what - it WAS.... and it fit woo hoo. But I bought the Bali Comfort Revolution # 3484 IN TURQUOISE!!!. It is very soft and comfy. I only bought 2 because I'm sure my size will be changing. By the way, I will be 4 weeks post-op this coming Friday. I don't think I could have bra shopped before this, as I was too sore and oozing a little. Also, this week I feel my strength has returned fully and was not exhausted being out and about. I would wait if I were you, as your breasts are probably still tight, swollen and high. Mine have softened and dropped a little, look more natural and in proportion to the rest of me. At first I thought they were so tiny! But I'm getting used to them now and am very happy.
