It was my midlife crisis too. My only regret it that I didn't do it at an earlier age. It really has been an experience...overall a good one. Good luck with your surgery. I will be watching for your updates.
Bleeding was very little...I think I had the drip catcher for about 24-48 hours. HOWEVER, I don't really remember much the first couple days. I didn't have any packing what-nots...and I had my surgery on a friday so I wasn't able to see the doctor until monday. Once I didn't need the catcher anymore, I cleaned up as much as I could with Qtips. Gently of course. My doctor waits 10 days to remove the cast...I was pretty much back in action at that point. No pain at all taking it off. Just plenty of swelling that night. Then we taped it up for another 4- 5ish days.
