I appreciated Dr. Tom J. Pousti, MD, FACS taking the time to read my question and comment. I understand what he is saying. He can't recommend anyone and I should do the research myself to find the right plastic surgeon to fix my problem. I did do that, or so I thought when choosing the P/S who did my face lift. He was on the lists mentioned. I asked to see photos of patients. All the P/S I went to see and interviewed had not one "after" photo of any of their face lift patients showing their ears. Either the photos were of a person straight on or the women were older with short hair styles that covered their ears or they wore big round earrings that covered the earlobe and edge of the cheek.
When I asked to speak to any patients in person to see their results in person, I was told by all the doctors that they could not reveal any patients names for confidentiality reasons. That is also why I assume that most P/S web sites and offices cover part or all of patients identity in their before and after photos.
You have to have an explanation like Dr. S. Larry Schlesinger's, MD, FACS who commented on my question also more importantly, see photos showing the particular plastic surgeons "after" face lift patients ears. The problem is how do you accomplish that realistically? Getting a list of credentialed P/surgeons will not do that. Looking for someone who advertises that they specialize in revisions or aesthetics would be a dream. But that is also hard to find or I would have found one already. The few that due advertise for this when doing a search inevitably are out of the area and most of the time quite a bit out of the area (San Francisco), like Dr. S. Larry Schlesinger who is all the way in Hawaii.
So I am still looking for an answer to find a plastic surgeon in the San Francisco area who can fix my ears. Whether it comes form a former face lift patient who retained normal, natural looking ears or a Plastic Surgeon himself who thinks he can fix my ears and works in the area. I coulld manage to go to a doctor who was within 2 hours or so of San Francisco.
I wanted to mention that the plastic surgeon who preformed my face lift is board certified and considered one of the best plastic surgeons in the San Francisco bay area. His credentials are a mile long. He also teaches some plastic surgery techniques to other plastic surgeons. So I thought I was in good hands as far as getting someone who would give me the best results. As a potential patient looking for a good plastic surgeon who is proficient in the procedure you want, it is not so easy. If you don't know someone personally who had the procedure you are considering or even someone who will admit they had plastic surgery and will tell you who their doctor is....then you are on your own and it is just like the pin the tail on the donkey game. The donkey is equivalent to a list comprised of all the board certified doctors in your particular area with extra credentials, touted to be very skilled and proficient. I wish Dr. S. Larry Schlesinger, MD, FACS was located in the San Francisco area because I would go to him for a revision. His description of how he places the ears in a face lift sound wonderful, natural looking and who my cute little ears were before I had my face lift. would go to him for a revision. I am hoping that there is a San Francisco doctor who can do what Dr Schlesinger described to fix my ears.
It is not that my scars are bad and that I need to improve them. It is the location. They are where you can see obviously see them. Other brachioplasty placements are more on the inside of the arm area where they are only visible if you raise your arms. I still have plenty of fat that could still be removed and so I wanted to know if my arms could be liposuctioned smaller and then the skin removed so that the scar/incision placement was moved over some to the inside of my arms? I also have the problem of one arm is smaller than the other. My P/S did not make the circumference of my arms even so He had to go back and make the larger one smaller. That resulted in the are he "re-did" is now is smaller. So I ended up with the same uneven problem but just now on the other arm. If there is any P/S in San Francisco or the Bay area who specializes in Brachioplasty please let me know by commenting on this thread.
I have never heard of an arm lift done through the arm pit. How does that work? Is there a web site that has a drawing or photos of before and after of this procedure? I only know about the brachioplasty (arm lift) with lipo to get rid of the fat and then the long scar to get rid of the excess skin which makes the arms smaller and lifts them up so they don't look like bat wings. I would love to know more about fixing this without having a long scar.
