Hi Glittergal,
Thanks for your kind post to my review. You look amazing! Congratulations and happy shopping - summer is around the corner - it'll be even better!! I'll try to post some 7mo pictures soon. Take care.
Hi Margaret,
Sorry it has taken me a while to respond to your comment on my post. Thanks for your kind words! Been thinking of you and know how long the waiting seems before your surgery. It was the hardest part of this process for me due to all the doubts and fears. But I have NO regrets and so happy I did it, and so will you. It's been 7 months for me and my advice during this whole process is to give yourself lots and lots of time - there are so many changes that occur afterwards (my favorite time was 3-10 days because it felt there was an internal cast around my boobs and they were so perky and firm, and I loved going without a bra - but that slowly went away) and it takes time for the full effect to be realized. I have unfortunately gained weight since my sx but will continue to work hard to get it off - I blame my age - way harder as you get older. You will feel so wonderful afterwards - it is transforming. They are now the best part of my body instead of the worst!! I love them, however, all my other flaws are now very noticeable, especially the belly. WIth your youth hopefully your body will respond well and you will be motivated to work on the rest of your body image afterwards. This will definitey change your life and help your overall body image and self consciousness. You will do fantastic due to your small frame and age - you will be amazed. Look forward to hearing how it all goes and wish you easy recovery and healthy healing. I am still wearing my sx bra at night because my side scars get sore at night without support - its very comfortable. I too wore much smaller bras to minimize myself, so I was at first a little disapppointed that I still fit and wear them post surgery. Be prepared for that since you are squeezing into a DDD you might simply go down to a DD, like I am now, and at first it was very disappointing, but referring back to photos makes me realize what a difference. The surgery is quick and over before you know it, that's the easiest part. Take it easy and you'll do great.
Hey Long Beach Friend! Great to hear from you. Love all your glamour shots - you look gorgeous and so do your girls!! I'm not in an experienced position to give advice on this, but giving an “if it were me” perspective...I know we can't expect perfection but I believe you can reach an outcome that you are happy with so I wouldn’t stop or give up on attaining that, just may take time and research. I agree with Wend and would seek many, many different surgeon's opinions – until you find someone who can work with you to accomplish your goals and wants to make sure you are happy. I probably wouldn't do a revision with the same doc if I didn't like his work in the first place. There might be a possibility they could do just a little fat transfer to plump up the cleavage area you don’t like and give you the fullness you want. Perhaps relatively simpler less invasive procedure?? Just totally guessing on this idea and not even sure if it’s a possibility, but seems like it wouldn’t take much to fill that in. My surgeon did mention this option during my pre-op consult if they ended up too small – kind of a reverse lipo. You could go on this forum and ask a general question of the surgeons here and see what they suggest. You probably have to wait for the 9-12 month mark before another surgeon would touch it, but they just need the prior surgical notes to know where your pedicle is located so it doesn't damage sensation if they do any further surgical revisions. It’s a tough decision because you don’t want to make things worse if you are relatively happy. I like the comments here that time may help your sensation – even another year or so and sure hope that happens for you. Your scarring looks way better now as time goes on! And a positive spin is always helpful and I agree, what we have now is so much better than before and we are thankful every day that we did this. You look fabulous, sexy, and enjoying life! Was so great to hear from you. Take care and hope to keep in touch.
So wonderful to hear your update Krissy!! Sounds like you are doing superb. I laughed at your post regarding sleeping in a bra - I too couldn't wait to rip bras off as soon as I got home preop and sleep without but now I still find myself liking the security and support of my surgical bra when I sleep. The other night without it I turned over from my side to my back and had excrutiating pain on my side incision - hurt throughout the next day, kind of like a bruised feeling - so curious about the science of what is going on inside - are there sutures still - who knows - but find it more comfy now to have the support of my wonderful surgical bra - so you are not alone on that and hopefully we can shed that some day. I did my first 5k yesterday with my sister - walked some of it - suture areas are a little sore today but they have been lately. Let us know how the Tri goes - Good for you!!!!! Very excitng and will be fun - quite the accomplishement!!! Take care and hope you have a great year.xxoo
Thanks ladies!! I will definitely find the Mederma scar gel, Agab, and give that a try - I've been using Palmers and a silicone gel called "Scarfade" that the PS office provides, normally costs $30 but thankfully they gave it to me. Appreciate the tip...
