I have seen a dermatologist for BOTOX and also two nurse injectors. Both nurse injectors at Essentially Bare in Boston. Both were highly trained in the cosmetic use of BOTOX and dermal fillers. One of the nurse injectors is also a teaching nurse and works with BOTOX in a hospital, with infants ( I believe it is used to stop addicted babies from shaking?). I would recommend that someone ask questions about the experience and frequency in which a doctor or nurse injector works with these materials, as to me, experience and ongoing training is KEY. The dermatologist, for example, was horrible. Heavy handed with the needle that left excessive bruising (some bruising can occur, sometimes I get a slight bruise in a very specific area of my eye wrinkles), a very curt manner, and not taking the time to study my face, smile and frown lines, not explaining, etc. It was clearly not the major part of this derm's practice. Both of the nurses I have had, and one of them ongoing, have been exactly the opposite. These procedures ARE what they do, everyday. Of course if I were getting something invasive such as breast augmentation, liposuction, eye lid lift, I would do tons and tons of research on the board-certified surgeon before undergoing the knife.
