Afyregirl, has your smile returned yet? I am going through the same thing right now; your pictures could be mine! I had juvederm and botox done on my nasolabial folds and other cheek lines on July 18th, and the left side of my smile is now paralyzed. I am devastated and have not been able to leave the house. When I do, I have to concentrate on not smiling. My doctor has acted like there is no way this was caused by the Botox or Juvederm and said it would go back to normal "very soon" (whatever that means)...It's been a month and it looks the same. I have another appointment this week.
Can anyone offer me any hope at all that this will resolve itself? Should I get an attorney and sue?
Thanks, Antoniag and Icr8720. Both of you have lifted my spirits and helped me to think more positively about my results. Hopefully the welts and the swelling (and now a new bruise on my neck) will go down in another day or two.
I'm not sure how many total passes she did on me, but she did go over each section of my face and neck with 3 different transducers.
Thank you for the uplifting remarks, Icr8720! I am so down in the dumps about my early results at this point, I can barely look at myself in the mirror.
I will try to think positively and Hang in There!
Suzetta, did this swelling ever subside? If so, how long did it take?
I had the procedure done 4 days ago and my neck area below the chin is so swollen that I can't see where my chin ends and my neck begins. I also have large, hard red welts all over my neck. I am so scared that this will never go away! I look 100 times worse now than I did before the Ulthera.
I, too, thought the pain was unbearable, even after receiving many injections. My neck is so swollen after 4 days, that I can't see any definition between my chin and my neck. I also have large, red, hard welts all over my neck and the area to the left of my mouth is swollen and looks as if I have a mouthful of marbles.
I wish I had never had this procedure done. I don't know if or when the swelling and welts will go away.
