My pre-op appointment was closer to my surgery date than yours but based on what we went over, I could see why it wouldn't hurt to have it farther out. I first met with the office manager for my PS's practice. We went over pre-surgery information (medications to avoid, antibacterial soap I should use, etc.) and then post-surgical care. She gave me a large packet of information with everything in it but did go through a lot of that information with me orally. During the visit I had to sign my release forms giving them permission for the surgery and also pay my portion of the costs. She took my temperature and blood pressure to make sure everything looked normal - maybe a baseline to be used for the surgery? After all of that, the PS came in to go over any additional questions I had and also to reconfirm size (she confirmed my desired size at consult, pre-op, and before the surgery while she was marking me). I also received prescriptions during the appointment: pain medication, prednisone, and antibiotic. I was to have those filled before surgery because I would begin the predinsone and possibly the pain meds the day of my surgery. I assumed they would do bloodwork but they didn't - maybe because I had a full panel done not even 6 weeks before the surgery? And that was basically it! After that visit, I got a call from the surgical center to go over necessary information for the morning of my surgery - when to stop eating, what to wear, what time to show up, etc.

Dummy me. I meant it should have been scheduled for tomorrow, not yesterday...

Wow, your pictures look really great! Everything BR-related looks like it is healing very well - minor bruising that's fading. How's the swelling? Most of the stories I have read on here say the T-junction is the last to finally close up so I would say that is normal. I will find out when I will actually start scar treatment on Friday at my follow-up (should have been scheduled for yesterday but I had forgotten I have a dental appointment tomorrow at the same time). She said we would talk about scar treatment and I guess she will tell me if I am healed enough to really start. Everything I have read says you shouldn't start until all incisions are completely closed to help prevent bacterial infections. Keep your chin up because you look awesome! :D

The yellow drainage nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't have an odor. Your body can only absorb so much of the fluid being retained in your breasts from the trauma and the rest has to go somewhere - not-completely-healed incisions are a perfect place for that to happen. I had one tiny spot that continued to leak two weeks post-op and all was well. Hope you are feeling better! :)

My operation was in an outpatient surgical center run by one of our hospital networks. I was in and out the same day as planned. My doctor is very conservative and I didn't have drains removed until 8 days post-op. Your plan (overnight, drains removed before going home) sounds like several stories I have read on RealSelf - I would consider that normal. I saw my PS for the initial consult, the pre-op appointment, and then the day of surgery. Most of the pre-op appointment was spent with her office manager going over details of surgery and post-op care but my PS did come in for about five minutes to discuss my desired size and answer any additional questions I had. Best of luck!!
