Puffy, swollen, sunken eyes from botox with eye bags - horrific disfigurement. Likely permanent.

I understand your pain :'(. I'm 36 weeks in and continuing to get worse. I'm heartbroken and hideous. I'm only 28 :(. I have the bags and eyelid droop too.I have pictures on the site. I pray you get better fast. This is hell.

I will argue this vehemently. Side effects can be permanent and life destroying. I had botox at 28 & it ruined my face. I've suffered every single day for 36 long weeks & I am not even a tiny bit better. Botox spread from my glabella into my eyes. My eyelids swelled due to fat pads bulging. My eyebrows became grotesquely enlarged because my muscles paralyzed by botox couldn't lift my brows and lesser muscles had to compensate resulting in a repulsive caveman appearance. I developed HUGE, DISGUSTING bags and tear trough deformity. My cheeks dropped also. My vision was affected too. My pictures are shocking and on this site. Please, please, please read the thousands of horror stories before gambling with your face. Botox has stolen almost 9 months of my life & I haven't healed even a bit. Doctors are saying I will need reconstructive surgery to repair the botox damage. Please, save yourself. There are alternatives. If botox goes wrong, you could be disfigured forever.

Sadly, after 35 long painful weeks - I look worse than ever. My eyelids have not returned and in addition I have huge swollen bags. The only good news is that I am suing the company that did this to me. Botox ruined my face and my life. I look very hideous and old.... at just 28. Nothing, including over 8 months of waiting has offered any relief :'(.

Kobu is right and shame of these doctors for answering as if they have knowledge. They do not know the answer to this question any more than they know what lies at the botom of the ocean. There have been NO clinical studies to document how botox breaks down in the body and expells. There are also NO studies regarding the LONG TERM EFFECTS of botox on healthy muscles. HOWEVER - there are scientific studies that prove botox causes muscle atrophy and turns healthy muscle into fat. Disturbingly - there have been studies where botox was found in the FINGERNAILS of cadavers YEARS after they had been injected with botox proving not only can it remain the the body for years, but it can also travel a great distance. It is very scary stuff and even scarier that uneducated doctors are tossing out their guesses as if they knew. Shame on them.

Oh Kobu - I COULD NOT AGREE MORE! Not only have I suffered horrificially from botox, but I am also the mother of a 5 year old with CP. Her doctors had recommended I use botox to treat her legs. I was told it was completely safe - 100% - and encouraged to give it to her by numerous pediatric doctors. I feel SICK thinking that I even considered it! It DISGUSTS me that these doctors are taking advantage of our trust and downplaying the very serious - LIFE DESTROYING - side effects of this disgusting poision. I think about the fact that my life has been pure hell for the past 231 days, without a day of relief, and I feel enraged. What if it were my sweet 5 year old suffering this fate instead of me because of these lying piece of crap doctors worrying more about money that the well being of others?!? So, yes, I absolutely agree that we have to make our voices heard. Easier said that done though. I swear, I was so ashamed to admit what had really happened to me. Everyone I know would ask what happened to my face, what was wrong with my eyes, and like a fool, I blamed a "fake" accident.... and then I felt like crap. My face is SHOCKING to say the very least. When they gaped in horror at my disfigurement, I should have screamed that it was botox. Certainly, if my face is shown as a possible side effect, people WILL think twice. Botox destroyed my face and my vision.... and unlike most people, I have a University of Michigan Doctor that agrees with me 100%. However, I found out the hard way that people are not very appreciative of our warnings. I allowed a few companies to use my picture as a warning (since it is documented as a botox side effect and cannot be argued by greedy botox loving doctors). There were some people that thanked me for sharing, BUT an even greater number of people had some extremely nasty, heartless things to say. I had people tell me that this is what I deserved for being vain enough to have botox. I had people say that I was an idiot for having poision shot in my face - I believe the exact quote was "LOL What an iditiot! OMG, shooting poision in my face is bad and can cause disfigurement? Who knew! She got what she deserved." and even one lady who accused me of making it up because she felt I couldn't "afford" botox and wanted to "ruin" it for the elite - not sure where she came up with this at considering I have paid enough in medical bills to buy a lifetime supply of botox. The comments were downright hateful. But, at least 4 or 5 women responded saying they had been considering botox and would not get it now after seeing me. So, that made it all worth it. Like you said - this is NOT our faults. We have been lied to, we have been cheated, we have been wronged! The people who have destroyed our lives DESERVE to be held accountable. Like you, it is all I have left. I will fight til my last breath.
