Hey Texas Bunny, I just saw your updates. Sounds like you are doing great. That is awesome news! Hey, I was just wondering - do you feel dryness and stuffiness in your nose at this point? I am getting better and better each day. At this point, I think the only thing that bothers me is the stuffiness - and of course the swelling in the tip that makes my nose turn upwards slightly. I think I will be sooooo happy when the tip drops a bit. I have also noticed that mine is really sensitive to salt. I had fries yesterday with salt and I could swear the tip of my nose is more upturned today. Have you noticed anything like that?
Texas Bunny, How are you doing now? I think we both get our casts off this week. I get mine off tomorrow. I am ready. I know it's going to be shocking and I probably won't like the way it looks without the cast because of all the swelling, but I am ready for it to be off. You hanging in there? How is your pain/swelling/mood?
Thanks for the post. I hope your doctor is right about things really improving halfway through the second week. I am really glad I found this site. It makes it much more bearable to know that others are going through the exact same thing right now. My friends have been worried about me, because I freaked when I saw the swelling and changes in my face that make me not look like myself. However, I do feel confident the swelling and changes are normal components of the healing process. I am just going to try and focus on the positive and do exactly what the doctor tells me....and also remind myself that I did the surgery for a reason. I am also trying to distract myself from obsessing about the way my nose changes every minute. I have stopped looking in the mirror except for when I clean my stitches twice a day. Please stay in touch...we'll have to cheer each other on as we go through this process. I hope you feel better soon!
Hi bahgirl. Looks like you and I are going through the same process at the moment. I had my rhinoplasty 5.5 days ago and am feeling pretty much the way you are. My eyes are still purple and my face is pretty swollen. I get my cast off on Tuesday. I am mentally preparing myself to be shocked as many have told me the swelling can be pretty bad once that cast comes off. However, I think things will get better for both of us as the days go on. We just have to hang in there with the recovery period. Hang in there!
NaturalMe, I really enjoyed reading your comments about your procedure. I just had a tip reduction and hump removal 5 days ago and I have to say I am a bit scared at this point. The cast is still on and I feel like I don't look like myself. I know much of that has to do with swelling, but I can't help but be afraid of what is under the cast. I hope my nose isn't too small. It's hard to tell at this point. I am just hoping I get a result as good as yours, because your nose looks great!
